Discover Tanzania’s remarkable wildlife and landscapes on a six-day safari through Tarangire National Park, the Ndutu region, Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. This journey combines elephant-rich savannah, the Great Migration’s calving grounds, the vast plains of the Serengeti and the extraordinary wildlife of the Ngorongoro Crater.
The route is especially rewarding during the wildebeest calving season, generally from late December to March, when large herds gather around Ndutu. Wildlife movements vary throughout the year, so the itinerary can be adjusted to suit seasonal conditions.

Itinerary in Detail
After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its ancient baobab trees, open savannah and large elephant herds. Enjoy a game drive through the park, looking for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo and a variety of antelope. Tarangire’s river attracts wildlife, particularly during the dry season, and predators such as lions and leopards may also be spotted.
After your game drive, continue to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, travel towards the Ndutu region, located in the southern part of the greater Serengeti ecosystem. The journey takes you through changing landscapes, with opportunities to enjoy views of the Great Rift Valley and the plains surrounding the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Arrive in Ndutu and head out for an afternoon game drive. Depending on the season, you may encounter vast herds of wildebeest and zebra, along with newborn calves and predators such as lions, cheetahs and hyenas. Ndutu is particularly famous for the wildebeest calving season, when thousands of calves are born across the plains.

Enjoy an early breakfast before heading out for a full day of wildlife exploration across the Ndutu plains.
Spend the day following the migration herds and searching for opportunities to witness the remarkable wildlife activity of the calving season. Depending on the timing of your visit, you may see newborn wildebeest, large herds grazing across the plains and predators hunting or resting nearby.
Ndutu also supports resident wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, cheetahs, leopards and numerous bird species. Your guide will use recent wildlife sightings to select the best areas for game drives.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness and continue exploring the plains, seasonal lakes and surrounding woodlands throughout the afternoon.
Return to your camp or lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart Ndutu and travel towards Central Serengeti, enjoying a game drive along the way. As you journey north, the landscape changes from the open southern plains to the rocky kopjes, grasslands and river valleys of Central Serengeti.
This region is famous for its resident wildlife and excellent opportunities to spot large predators. Search for lions resting among rocky outcrops, leopards in acacia trees, cheetahs scanning the plains and elephants moving through the woodland.
Enjoy a picnic lunch during the journey and continue wildlife viewing as you approach your camp or lodge. Depending on recent sightings, your guide may explore the Seronera area and nearby wildlife-rich habitats.
Arrive at your accommodation in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Enjoy breakfast before setting out for a morning game drive in Central Serengeti. Make the most of your final hours in the park by searching for wildlife across the plains and woodland areas.
Look for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and other animals as your guide explores areas with promising sightings. You may also encounter wildebeest herds moving through the Serengeti ecosystem, depending on the season.
After a picnic lunch, begin your journey towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy the changing scenery as you leave the Serengeti plains and travel towards the Ngorongoro highlands.
Arrive at your lodge or tented camp in the late afternoon or evening. Enjoy dinner and relax before your crater adventure the following day.

After an early breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater and descend to the crater floor for an unforgettable game drive in one of Africa's most extraordinary wildlife habitats.
Explore the crater's grasslands, wetlands, lakes and woodland areas in search of lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and hyenas. With luck, you may also spot the endangered black rhino.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site while surrounded by the crater's spectacular scenery. Continue your game drive before ascending the crater in the afternoon.
Drive back to Arusha, where your safari concludes, or transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward flight.
