Kilimanjaro Trekking Marangu Route
Marangu Route
The Marangu route, often referred to as the “Coca-Cola” route, is one of the most popular routes for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. It is known for being the oldest and most established route on the mountain. One of the distinctive features of the Marangu route is that it offers sleeping huts instead of camping, providing a more comfortable experience for climbers. These huts are dormitory-style accommodations with bunk beds, mattresses, and pillows provided, although climbers still need to bring their own sleeping bags.
The route starts from the southeast side of Mount Kilimanjaro and follows a gradual slope towards the summit. Many climbers favor the Marangu route because it is considered to be one of the easier paths to the summit, although altitude acclimatization can still be challenging due to the relatively short duration of the trek. However, the route’s popularity also means that it tends to be more crowded than other routes.
Trekking Mt. Kilimanjaro is an adventure of a lifetime.
