Experience the dramatic wildlife of Tanzania on a six-day safari focused on the Northern Serengeti, where the Great Migration may bring vast herds of wildebeest and zebra to the Mara River, followed by a game drive in the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater.
The Northern Serengeti is especially popular from around July to October, when migrating herds may gather near the Mara River. River crossings are unpredictable and depend on herd movements, weather and conditions, so sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Itinerary in Detail
After an early breakfast, meet your safari guide and depart Arusha for Serengeti National Park. Travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying the beautiful highland scenery before entering the vast Serengeti plains.
Proceed towards Central Serengeti, enjoying wildlife viewing along the way. The Seronera region is renowned for its resident lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes and large herds of plains game. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route and continue your game drive as you approach your accommodation.
Arrive at your camp or lodge in the afternoon or evening, followed by dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart Central Serengeti and travel north towards the Mara River region, enjoying game drives along the way.
As you journey through the Serengeti, explore its changing landscapes and search for wildlife. During the northern migration season, large herds of wildebeest and zebras may be moving towards the Mara River, where dramatic river crossings can occur.
Arrive in Northern Serengeti and continue wildlife viewing around the migration areas. Your guide will select suitable locations based on current herd movements and recent sightings.
Enjoy a picnic lunch during the journey before proceeding to your northern camp or lodge. Settle in for dinner and overnight.

Spend the day exploring the Northern Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives, or a full-day outing with a picnic lunch.
Your guide will follow wildlife activity around the plains and river areas. During migration season, you may have opportunities to observe herds gathering near the Mara River. If conditions allow, you may witness a river crossing, but these events are spontaneous and cannot be scheduled.
The region also offers excellent opportunities to search for resident wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffalo, antelope and predators. Return to camp in the evening.

Enjoy an early breakfast before a morning game drive in Northern Serengeti. Explore the Mara River area and surrounding plains in search of migration herds, lions, crocodiles, elephants and other wildlife.
If the wildebeest are gathered near the river, your guide may spend time observing the herds from suitable viewing areas. River crossings are unpredictable and depend on herd movements, weather and other natural factors.
After your morning exploration, begin travelling south towards Central Serengeti, enjoying wildlife viewing along the route. Stop for a picnic lunch and continue your game drive through the beautiful Serengeti landscapes.
Arrive at your Central Serengeti accommodation in the evening for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Central Serengeti. Explore the Seronera region and nearby plains, searching for lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras and other wildlife.
Continue your safari as you travel towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy a picnic lunch along the way and take in the changing scenery as the open Serengeti plains give way to the Ngorongoro highlands.
Arrive at your lodge or tented camp in Karatu or the Ngorongoro area in the afternoon. Enjoy dinner and relax before your final day's crater safari.

After an early breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater and descend to the crater floor for a memorable game drive in one of Tanzania's most spectacular wildlife destinations.
Explore the crater's grasslands, wetlands and woodland habitats in search of lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and hyenas. With luck, you may also encounter the endangered black rhino.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site on the crater floor, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Continue wildlife viewing before ascending the crater in the afternoon.
Drive back to Arusha, where your safari concludes, or transfer to Airport for your onward flight.
